Overview

Roland sets the ancient weapons to spring when John Farson and his mutants attack Gilead. When the attacked came, there were thousands of mutants and the first wave fell into the pit on sharp blades. The following mutants simply walked on top of the dead ones. The army tanks advanced with the mutants. Hundreds of mutants climbed the walls. The tanks set up just outside the city walls. The walls are breached and all that were defending Gilead run to the inner keep.

Roland releases the flies and they light upon the attackers. The mutants continue to attack in waves and the tanks devastated the city.

Farson gave the order to take prisoners and then kill them all. The three guards, the traitors, went to the inner keep with their weapons.

Marten Broadcloak asked Farson if he could take down the flag of Gilead.

As the three guards were about to set fire upon the remaining gunslingers and citizens of Gilead, their weapon misfired. They begged Roland for mercy. They received the gun shots of the gunslingers. The three traitors are now dead. The survivors left Gilead by passages under the city. Farson's flag now flies over what remains of the devastated Gilead.
